This group provides advice on development or review processes for the provincial dictionaries used for the privileging of physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists and midwives at BC healthcare facilities.
The provincial dictionaries are living documents, to be updated as needed to reflect changes in practice standards or technology. A scheduled review and refresh of dictionary content is in progress and will continue through to the end of 2019. The advisory group is primarily focused on this 3-year refresh project, while also developing recommendations for future updates.
The advisory group is chaired by Dr. Becky Temple—the medical lead for dictionary review and refresh activities—and may include representative members from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, Doctors of BC, and each of the health authorities and affiliates.
